The well-regarded Japanese eatery, Ichi Umai, can be found inside the Junction Nine shopping mall on 18 Yishun Avenue 9 in Singapore.
Since its opening in late 2021, the outlet has sought to provide a selection of both traditional and contemporary Japanese cuisine at an affordable price.
Chef Low, co-founder of the restaurant, has extensive experience collaborating with professional Japanese chefs in Singapore, and has carefully created the recipes for the menu items.
On the menu of the Japanese restaurant, some signature dishes include Bara Chirashi Don, Ika Mentai Mayo, Kuro Buta Don, and Kaisen Ramen.
The meat for the pork-based dishes served in this restaurant is imported from Galicia, Spain, from farms that feed their pigs chestnuts. This contributes to the meat having a better flavor and texture, as it is more tender and marbled.
Popular items aside from those on the menu include Takowasa (wasabi flavored cooked octopus), Ebi Tempura (batter-fried prawns), Una Tamago Don (eel slices, sweet-soy egg sauce on rice), and the delicious Hokkaido Strawberry Cheese Cake for dessert.
