Located in Singapore, Keong Saik Bakery has two branches – one located in Chip Bee Gardens (44 Jalan Merah Saga).
Tan Yuzhong and Ng Beng Soon founded the bakery in June 2017. Its tagline of “Traditional. Nostalgic. Contemporary.” reflects the bakery’s goal to unify the past and present by creating a variety of baking styles and flavor combinations.
The bakery shop offers a wide selection of menu items that blend modern styles and techniques with traditional and local flavors, providing a touch of nostalgia.
An example of one of the menu items is a signature pastry called Sor Hei, which pays homage to the history of the Keong Saik Road street, where the Bendemeer outlet is located. This pastry celebrates the Majies, who used to inhabit the area.
This pastry, resembling a hair bun, pays homage to the Majies and serves as a visual representation of the traditional Majie ceremony which involves styling their hair in an up-do.
The bakery shop offers a wide selection of items on their menu, including Whole Cakes, Cakes, Cruffins, Viennoiserie, Breads, Sandwiches, Loaves, Pastry, European Breads, as well as special Chinese New Year items (only available during certain times of the year).
At the bakery shop, there are many delicious treats to choose from, such as Burnt Cheesecake, Tarte Au Matcha Cake, Orh Nee Croissant Cube, French Butter Croissant, Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant, Otak Danish, Bacon & Egg Muffin, Banana Cake, and Cheesy Caramelized Onion Focaccia.
