Esplanade Mall (8 Raffles Avenue) is home to the fantastic bouldering gym “Project Send”.

In September 2022, Kenneth Ng and Sarah Chua, both experienced climbers, established a climbing gym facility spanning 5,200+ square feet. The facility offers bouldering, strength training, as well as a café concept called Beta Café.

Designed by the experienced Swiss climber and alpinist Patrick Andrey, a leader in the climbing wall manufacturing industry, the bouldering walls at the center boast over 70 routes of 12 different grades.

Andrey tackled the structural issues, such as pillars, for the Esplanade Mall project and fashioned a route through the bouldering gym that would enable guests to enjoy the cityscape and riverfront scenery, creating an eye-catching visual experience.

Ivan Toh, a certified national route-setter and one of the celebrity route-setters for Singapore’s bouldering and climbing competitions, was responsible for constructing the 14 bouldering walls.

At Beta Café, you can grab a bite of some delicious snacks, such as Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Salmon Bagel, Kouign-Amann, and Sticky Cinnamon Buns, while enjoying an artisanal coffee or a refreshing cold-pressed juice. This on-the-go concept from the bouldering gym has a compact menu that’s sure to satisfy your cravings.
